From the album Aurorae
The evening twilight sinks upon the city silent
The world has gone to sleep
A lone stranger phases in and out of shadows
His soul absorbed into the deep
A liquid brew transcends emotion
He's just another player in this crazy game
Despite his luck he has a notion
Salvation comes; he doesn't know her name
Sweet melodies flow into my mind
I seek the light, but cannot find
How can this be, is my faith blind?
Where are you, can't you be mine?
The pale moonlight illuminates the path before me;
I slowly walk on, never looking back on what once was.
For an instant, an artifical glow surrounds me;
Then I'm swallowed by the shadows again.
Knocking on forbidden doors,
Ignoring the future and what has come before
I'm so far gone,
The past is dead to me
The spark of hope, a dying flame
So far, so far away from me
Another run has turned up empty
A farfetched hope and wasted time
I turn to see; there's no one there
To share with me the light of dawn
A glimpse of light from somewhere deep within
I am so lost; still I am so free.
Open my eyes, let me see the skies
Just one more look, before the heavens come crashing down
Walk with me on this shimmering path, and
Embrace the cold touch of the moon
